Zoundry Raven - Open Source!

Tuesday, February 10, 2009

Hey everyone. I realize that we've been silent for quite some time now. Distractions at Zoundry (read "other projects") have pulled our attention away from Raven. The bad news is that we haven't been able to devote much of our development time to that project. We still try to handle support email and the forums as much as possible, but even on these fronts we don't do as good a job as we would like. This is unfortunate because we think that Raven is a good product and it could be so much better if only it had some constant attention being paid to it.

The good news is that, to this end, we have decided to release Raven as an open-source project. We're trying to bring on developers from the Raven community to help push Raven development forward. We (Zoundry) will continue to serve the following functions:

  • Overall product direction/guidance

  • Build and Release management (we will still be your official source for new builds)

  • Email support, Forum support, Web Site hosting/management

  • Evangelism (to the extent we have ever been capable of this)

Your takeaway from this should be that we are actively seeking developers to help usher in a new era of active Zoundry Raven development. If you are a developer interested in getting involved, please let us know via email (support@zoundry.com) or the Zoundry Raven Forum. Now is your chance to help make Raven even better than it already is!

How to run Remote Desktop Console using command line
If you may wan to run Desktop Console from a batch file, for example RDC over VPN, you can use mstsc /v:servername /console command.

Mstsc

Creates connections to terminal servers or other remote computers, edits an existing Remote Desktop Connection (.rdp) configuration file, and migrates legacy connection files that were created with Client Connection Manager to new .rdp connection files.

Syntax

mstsc.exe
{ConnectionFile |
/v:
ServerName Port ]} [ /console ] [ /f ] [ /w: Width /h: Height ]

Remote Desktop Port number

(Allow Remote Access)

>這時他會開啟 電腦-內容(System Properties) 最右邊的遠端(Remote)頁籤。下圖的例子中是關閉遠端協助 (Remote Assistance) ,然後開啟遠端桌面(Remote Desktop)

> 基本上到這裡就ok了,不過我們還是要講一下怎麼在 Windows 7 中,更改遠端桌面的連接埠。

1.首先執行 regedit. exe

2.找到路徑「

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\TerminalServer\WinStations\RDP-Tcp\

Modify

> 預設帶出為16進制(Hexadecimal),16進制不容易閱讀,就改以10進制(Decimal)來輸入你想要的連接埠的值

> 搞定收工,試著用 Mstsc.exe 遠端桌面程式連結看看吧!格式為「IP:port」

~ End

Windwos 7 login

  2. Type in control userpasswords2

===========================================

There are some cases in which your PC has only a single user, or let us say; sometimes you've got bothered when someone asks you to login to Windows 7 because they don't have access. Or sometimes you find it hassle to keep on logging-in, thus you just want to login automatically. It's recommended that you set a password before you login to Windows for security, and that's the reason why it is set to default. But if you really want to get rid of such feature, you can do it anyway… Just follow a simple trick- which will allow you to login automatically to Windows.

Follow these steps to enable auto login in Windows 7:

1. On the Start Menu, search for Run- you can see at the top most a Run program, just click it. Or you can use a keyboard shortcut; just press Windows + R to launch Run.

Windows 7 Run Box2. Type in control userpasswords2 and click OK to open Windows 7 Advance User Accounts dialogue.

Control Userpasswords23. Select the Username in the Users for this computer box, and uncheck the box saying "Users must enter a username and password to use this computer."

Windows 7 User Account Window4. If you are done, click OK to save the changes. An Automatically Log On window might pop-up. Just enter the required Username and Password.

Windows 7 Automatically Log On windowIt says: You can set up your computer so that users do not have to type a name and password to log on. To do this, specify a user that will be automatically logged on below.

5. Click Ok and close the dialogue box. Kudos! The next time you boot your PC,

You are not required to enter your password anymore.
